ABOUT THE ARTIST

Yun Wen’s practice centres on observation and reflection, using photography and moving image to reframe lived experience rather than document reality. Attentive to subtle gestures, emotional shifts, and traces of transformation, her work explores how the body holds memory and negotiates its relationship with social structures, environments, and other forms of existence. Positioned as an observer, Yun is drawn to states of uncertainty and transition, moments when identities, relationships, or perceptions remain unresolved. Through these suspended states, she translates lived experience into visual propositions, inviting viewers to encounter the image not as a fixed narrative, but as an open-ended space for reflection.
