ABOUT THE ARTIST

Ziyo’s practice begins with a simple proposition: softness does not need to be overcome. A London-based multidisciplinary artist and designer, she works across textiles, sculpture and material experimentation, exploring vulnerability, endurance, containment and support. Through crochet, found objects and contrasting materials, Li creates delicate structures that hold, bend, overflow and remain deliberately unresolved. Her work considers vulnerability as a form of openness rather than failure: the possibility of revealing fragility while retaining strength. By allowing loose threads, uncertain structures and unfinished states to remain visible, she makes space for tenderness, instability and change, proposing softness as an enduring way of being rather than something we must learn to leave behind.
