Projects
A selection of art, design and production projects developed through LILIS LAB.
INTO THE ATOM-Wings Aviation Museum
An interactive mushroom cloud light developed for Into the Atom, a permanent exhibition at Wings Aviation Museum. Based on historical nuclear detonation height data provided by the museum, we translated real measurements into the physical structure of the piece, with a transparent layer marking a specific altitude reference. The illuminated cloud form and launch-inspired push button were developed through repeated structural, material and interaction testing.
RECONSTRUCTING THE OYSTER
A wider material study exploring how the same 3D-scanned oyster changes as it moves between physical form, digital data and different fabrication processes. As part of the project, LILIS LAB produced three material variations using flexible resin, model resin and wood-filled FDM, developing the print orientation and support strategy to protect the client’s preferred surface.
TRANSPARENCY & METALLIC FINISH
A series of custom tear bottles developed through material and print-setting experimentation. The bottle bodies were produced in transparent blue PLA to retain both colour and translucency, allowing the liquid inside to remain visible, while the caps were printed in silver Silk+ filament with tailored settings to achieve a more metallic, reflective finish.
